American Barns

We were one of the first companies in the UK to make American Barns, beginning in 1987 when we were asked by a distraught client to resolve a windy problem. Their stables – built by someone else – kept blowing down, and so the answer was to build an American Barn. Now, nearly 20 years on, we are firmly established as one of the leading suppliers of these large and highly versatile buildings.

There are many situations when a JWS American Barn could be the right choice for you. They are perfect for when you and your horses are in exposed positions, as they offer ultimate protection from the elements. They are also much warmer and more secure than individual stables. Horses are social animals, and another benefit is that your horses will tend to get on better, as they can see each other regularly, and with fitted rear doors this allows for greater ventilation and helps alleviate boredom.

American Barns are not only great for your horse’s comfort, they are also highly flexible. Our smallest unit, the 24’x36’, will give you four looseboxes, or any combination of loosebox, tack room or hay barn – the choice is entirely yours. With longer models, you can use the 12’ gangway to create a hay barn at the end and length is never a problem - so there are no limitations!
