Mobile Stable Specifications Intro and Ideal Ranges

CONSTRUCTION

Free construction is carried out by our fully trained staff rather than sub-contractors within a 50 mile radius of our workshop in Netherstreet, Chippenham, Wiltshire. Please contact us for delivery charges outside of this area.

All sections are bolted together.

Fixing to the sledge, heavy duty anchor brackets are welded to the sledge and cross beams. We use a 80mm coarse threaded bolt to secure the building to the sledge.

All fixings are fully galvanised.

DELIVERY

SLEDGE

Fully galvanised steel sledge 80 x 80 x 5mm & 80 x 40 x 6mm box section under all walls. Anti Flex Gussets are located at the corners? externally for safety. Two 50mm diameter galvanised steel tow bars that can be used at either end. Stronger & safer than straps or chains.

HEIGHT

The eaves measure 2180mm (7’2"), and to the ridge 2945mm (9’8”),including the galvanised steel sledge.

TREATMENT

All internal and external timber is pressure treated with Tanalith E™ wood preservative for longevity against fungal decay & insect attack. Not including boards.

FRAMEWORK

75mm x 50mm (3” x 2”) C16/C24 stress graded @ 610mm (2') centres.

Please note that many other manufacturers choose the smaller dimensioned 3” x 2” CLS (Canadian Lumber Standard), which is only 2.1/2”x 1.1/2”. As wood is a natural product, thicker means stronger, and therefore your building will last longer with a thicker frame.

SHIPLAP CLADDING

We only use 16mm (5/8") 5th grade Scandinavian redwood, fully tanalised for longevity against fungal decay & insect attack.

ROOF COVERING

Our standard offering is black Onduline with a minimum 15 degree pitch.

Alternatively, you may want an attractive felt shingle roof. Add a touch of originality price on application.

ROOF LINING

Intro Range Roof lining can be fitted as an optional feature.

Ideal Range lined with 11mm OSB for additional strength and longevity (this feature is not included when metal box profile roofing is selected). lined Onduline roof also provides a cooler environment in the summer and warmth in the winter months.

ROOF TIMBERS/PURLINGS

Intro Range 100mm x 47mm C16/24 stress graded purlings @ 610mm centres.

Ideal and Elite Range 100mm x 47mm C16/24 stress graded purlings @ 475mm centres. Front/Gutter purlings 150mm x 50mm C16/24 stress graded.

CANOPY

Fully supported by a prefabricated plated truss.

Intro Range Extends to 900mm (3') at the front.

Ideal and Elite Range Extends to 1200mm (4') at the front.

GUTTERING

Fitted to the front as standard, we use half round black guttering and include down pipes at both ends of the building. Rear guttering is also available.

KICKBOARDS

Intro Range 11mm All stables are lined to 1220mm high and include noggins to prevent objects dropping behind. As standard we use OSB moisture resistant (Oriented Strand Board), manufactured to BS5669.

Ideal Range 18mm All stables are lined to 1220mm high and include noggins to prevent objects dropping behind. As standard we use OSB moisture resistant (Oriented Strand Board), manufactured to BS5669.

Elite Range 18mm All stables are lined to eaves height. As standard we use moisture resistant OSB (Oriented Strand Board), manufactured to BS5669. 

STABLE DOORS

Intro Range Bottom doors are 1235mm wide with a height of 1220mm and 62mm thick. Bottom doors are lined with 11mm OSB BS5669 moisture resistant board & fitted with an anti-bite strip and kickover latch. All doors are hung with 450mm hinges fastened with 150mm Brenton pad bolts for additional strength. Held open and secured with a cabin hook. All doors extend to ground level. All ironwork is fully galvanised for protection against the elements. Top doors can be fitted as an optional feature.

Ideal Range Bottom doors are 1235mm wide with a height of 1220mm and 62mm thick. Bottom doors are lined with 11mm OSB BS5669 moisture resistant board & fitted with an anti-bite strip and kickover latch. Top and bottom doors are hung with 450mm hinges fastened with 150mm Brenton pad bolts for additional strength. Held open and secured with a cabin hook. All doors extend to ground level. All ironwork is fully galvanised for protection against the elements. Top doors included.

Elite Range Doors are steel framed with 150mm x 38mm thick Iroko hardwood inserts 1220mm wide with a bottom door height of 1265mm and 40mm thick. Set in a steel door frame. Bottom doors are fitted with a kickover latch. All doors are hung with adjustable hinges fastened with 150mm Brenton pad bolts for additional strength, held open and secured with a cabin hook. All doors extend to ground level. All frames and ironwork are fully galvanised for protection against the elements. Top doors included.

TACK ROOM DOORS

Intro Range & Ideal Range 
Tack room doors are 900mm wide 50mm thick. Hung with 450mm hinges fastened with 150mm Brenton pad bolts, held open and secured with a cabin hook. All doors extend to ground level. All ironwork is fully galvanised for protection against the elements.

Elite Range Tack room doors are 900mm wide, steel framed with 150mm x 38mm Iroko hardwood inserts. Set in a steel door frame. All doors are hung with adjustable hinges and secured with a British Standard 5 lever mortice lock, held open and secured with a cabin hook. All frames and ironwork fully galvanised for protection against the elements.

WINDOWS

Intro Range Hopper windows can be fitted as an optional feature.

Ideal Range Windows measure 600mm wide x 675mm high, The standard 4 blade Louvre window both are fitted with galvanised steel bars for safety. Both increase airflow to your stable without causing a draught? making a more comfortable environment for your horse. Please inform our sales staff your choice when placing your order.

Elite Range Windows measure 745mm wide x 955mm high, The standard 6 blade Louvre window is fitted with galvanised steel bars for safety. Providing increased airflow to your stable without causing a draught? making life better for your horse.

VENTILATION

Intro Range Continuous ridge and eave vents.

Ideal Range & Elite Range We have created a unique arbour vent for our stables that is fitted under the overhang. Jon William Stables are market leaders for well ventilated stabling. This makes the building not only better for your horse, but will make it last longer too.

DAMP PROOF COURSE

The DPC is fitted to the underside of all sole (bottom timber) plates.
